This is a story of two best friends (Bret- the lead character and Johny- his best friend). They knew each other since their childhood days. They use to share all their little secrets and new things with each other and could do anything to fulfill each other’s wish. People usually say that friendship do not exists forever; it either takes a break or ends at some level. But in this story, even death could not end the friendship between Bret and Johny. Here, one friend loses the other friend forever but fulfilling one’s last wish.
This story begins with the lead character, Bret. Bret had shifted to his new house and was so much excited to show it to his best friend Johny. One day Bret invited Johny to his home (scene when the story begins).
Bret stands in front the gate of his house and waits for Johny to come. An hour passes and Johny arrives. Johny apologizes for not coming in time and tells that there had been an accident on the way so he got late. Bret doesn’t take that thing seriously and takes Johny into his home.
As Bret was so much excited that his best friend had come to his new home, he shows all the rooms and asks if Johny liked it. Johny says those were good. At last he takes Johny to show his bedroom. He opens the door in an exciting way, and tells “Look, this is my room”. As he turns back, Johny disappears. Johny isn’t there where he was. Surprised Bret calls his name but he gets no response. Suddenly his phone rings.
Bret receives the call. It was by an unknown person. The person in the next phone asks if Bret knows Johny. Bret replies that Johny is his best friend. Bret gets little fear by such unknown call so his heart starts beating fast, he gets little trembled, his eyes remains alert. Bret gets shocking news that turns him into a statue for a moment. And the news was he had lost his best friend forever. Johny had passed away in an accident. Bret becomes unable to react. His phone drops out from his hand on the floor. The last sentence Johny had told him “Sorry Bret, there had been an accident so I got late” murmurs in his ear in a loud sound. He cannot even drop out tears from his eyes.
Bret recalls the last moment with his friend. Poor Bret, he loved his friend so much. He had not even thought of losing him so early. He then at last comes to know that his best friend Johny had come for the last time to fulfill his small wish…nothing more but visiting his new home.
Bret will miss him every single moment of joy and pain. Bret is now all alone. The only friend he had was lost in silence. He could now never hear that voice again. He lost a buddy, a brother.
Finally, the story ends with Bret’s silence.
